Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026 · In force from 1 January 2026

Governing law: Swiss law. Jurisdiction: Switzerland.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using swissnettocal.ch (the “Website”), including the salary calculator tool, blog articles, and all other content, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Website.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Website. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Website following any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Nature of the Service

SwissNetto provides an online Swiss salary calculation tool and a collection of educational articles on Swiss finance, taxation, health insurance, and employment topics. The Website is intended as a general information resource only.

SwissNetto is not a licensed tax advisor, financial advisor, legal advisor, or insurance broker. Nothing on this Website constitutes professional advice of any kind. The salary calculator produces estimates based on generalized rate models and does not account for your individual circumstances, cantonal complexities, municipal rates, special tax rulings, or changes in legislation that may have occurred after the stated effective date of our rate model.

3. Accuracy of Calculations — Important Disclaimer

The salary calculator uses simplified rate models for illustrative and educational purposes. The deduction rates applied (AHV/IV/EO at 5.3%, ALV at 1.1%, BVG at 7.0%, and cantonal tax estimates) represent commonly applied approximations and are not guaranteed to reflect the precise rates applicable to your specific employment relationship, income level, or personal tax situation.

In particular, BVG/LPP contributions vary significantly based on the specific Pensionskasse plan, the insured salary within the BVG coordination framework, and the employee's age bracket. Cantonal effective tax rates vary by commune, civil status interaction with cantonal splitting rules, and a range of deductions not captured in the calculator model. The results produced by the calculator should be treated as indicative estimates, not as confirmed tax assessments.

For official, binding salary and tax calculations, consult your employer's payroll department, the relevant cantonal tax authority, or a licensed Swiss tax advisor.

4. No Financial or Tax Advice

The information on this Website — including all blog articles, guides, and educational content — is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute, and should not be relied upon as, tax advice, financial planning advice, investment advice, legal advice, or any other form of professional advice.

Laws, tax rates, social insurance rates, and financial regulations in Switzerland are subject to change. SwissNetto makes reasonable efforts to ensure content is current as of the stated effective date, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information at any given time. Always verify critical financial and tax information with authoritative sources including the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (ESTV / AFC), the relevant cantonal tax authority, and your employer.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

6. Intellectual Property

All content on this Website — including text, graphics, logos, article content, code, and the calculator tool — is owned by or licensed to SwissNetto and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The Website may contain links to third-party websites and may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and other advertising networks. SwissNetto is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any third-party websites. The inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Swiss law, SwissNetto, its operators, and their respective officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to:

In any event, SwissNetto's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Website shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) to access the service in the preceding 12 months — which, given that the service is provided free of charge, would be zero.

9. Warranty Disclaimer

The Website and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. SwissNetto does not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Swiss law, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Switzerland.
